| How the Rating System Works
Everyone starts with 100 points. After each race, points are transferred from losers to winners in the finishing order. The first player will get points from the second, third, etc., then the second player gets points from the third, etc. and so on. When a player has reached 0 points no more points can be won off that player.
The number of points transferred will depend on the number of points the person being beat (loser) has. As long as the loser has at least 1 point, then 10 percent of the loser's points will be transferred. The minimum number of points to be transferred is 1 while the maximum number of points, which can be transferred, is 10. If the loser has more points than the winner and has more than 100 points, then an additional 2 percent of the difference is also transferred.
For example if you beat someone with a lower rating, then the maximum number of points that will be transferred from that individual is 10 points. If, however, that individual then beats you in the next race, then they get 10 points, plus 2 percent of the difference, provided you have more than 100 points. This encourages people to race better players and also allows skilled players to move up quickly and catch up to people who have raced more races.
